The Daily
Strategic Initiatives Counsel, SME
• Based on knowledge of technology strategy, software PDLC, team dynamics, business needs and current challenges and using an agile model for Strategic Initiatives, provide to DTC Technology leaders and people managers advisory in the form of assessments and recommendations to solve business needs
• Ensure that senior leaders and people managers are adequately equipped to communicate technology and organizational change, e.g., ''left-shifting QA,'' advocate for and coach their employees, anticipate and manage any resistance to changes
• Guide the strategy for DTC Technology Strategic Initiatives to articulate organizational mission and culture
• Build understanding of organizational priorities, objectives and key results (OKRs), foster employee engagement and drive close alignment between DTC Technology and partner teams
• Provide executive counsel to members of the DTC Technology senior leadership team
• and business partners (e.g., HR, TA, Finance) to establish an executive ''voice'' and to connect, inform and inspire our global team for best employee experience
• Serve as a subject matter expert on the employee experience and advocate for programs to support the internal audience
Organizational Liaison
• Develop strategies in close collaboration with stakeholders including, but not limited to, senior leadership team members, DTC Tech functional leaders, HR business partners, Talent Acquisition, Finance and other WMTO stakeholders
• Collaborate with DEI and HR colleagues to ensure cross-organizational alignment for planned initiatives and reactive responses
SME/Skills Development Lead
• Serve as cross-functional team lead for internal Strategic Initiatives/comms initiatives; mentor peers and other content generation team members in developing planning and writing skills
Planning, Delivery & Results Measurement
• Plan, develop, write, edit, and distribute content that engages DTC Technology executive and people leader audience segments and leads to measurable action
• Reactive Strategic Initiatives: Plan, draft, review, revisions and approvals, deliver final, typically with less than two days' lead time from request to delivery
Planning
• Develop programs, tactical plans, messaging, communications deliverables, execution of tactical plans and measurement to support DTC Technology organizational changes
• Identify and prioritize Strategic Initiatives needs based on daily intake from SLT members and other organizational leaders
• Draft information cascade sequence for key DTC Tech audiences, including SLT, Directors, People Managers and ICs
• Develop tactical runbook of initiative elements/reviews & approvals
• Create stakeholder Tik-Tok (schedule per stakeholder, links to all supporting content)
Executive Voice
• Adopt and refine the executive ''voice'' in all Strategic Initiatives
Delivery
• Develop, shepherd through review/revision/approval, publish comms cascade deliverables
• Pre-brief Leaders on approach, messaging and their role in an initiative
• Oversee master run-of-show by audience/leader, ping contributors and executive stakeholders as necessary
• Project manage audience/calendar scheduling and collaborate on distribution of messages
Measurement
• Establish objectives and key results for Strategic Initiatives; track and measure the level of engagement and re-tool, as needed, to deliver key results
• Assess change impact via Strategic Initiatives and change readiness assessments; establish and report on OKRs; recalibrate, as needed, to accomplish objectives
The Essentials
• Demonstrated success leading work described above
• 10 years' experience in strategic initiatives planning, messaging and hands-on execution within enterprise organizations
• 10 years' experience in executive communications; demonstrated ability to quickly assimilate and refine an executive's ''voice''
• 10 years' experience in planning and executing strategic initiatives programs
• Demonstrates meticulous quality in written communications
• Projects gravitas and instills confidence in exec team via verbal and written communications
• Ability to coach and influence senior leaders on strategic initiatives objectives, messaging and presentation styles
• Ability to pivot and deliver quickly in rapidly changing, sometimes ambiguous organizational environments.
• Experience working with consumer-facing software development organizations
• 5 years' experience working within an international organization, with stakeholders from diverse cultural backgrounds and contexts
• 5 years' experience in external comms (working with PR/Press)
