The Job
The Director of Content Planning will be responsible for ownership and planning of key tentpole events, shows and content executions across Bleacher Report. They will manage a team of content planners and work cross functionally to drive all aspects of B/R's tentpole and live show planning process.
The Daily
• Own and develop B/R's content planning process and timeline
• Evolve B/R's content planning strategy and hit business KPIs
• Responsible for ensuring there is a clear goal and objective for each tentpole
• Ensure content plans are vetted and delivered before deadlines
• Accountable for delivering the executive level overview of our content programming strategy for each tentpole
• Steer alignment with cross-functional teams such as Sales, Design, Content, Programming, etc.
• Partner closely with the Director of Programming to ensure content plans are holistic, strategic, and build off of past executions
• Manage, coach and develop a team of content planners
• Collaborate with Operations to develop and run a post-mortem process for the content and programming teams each tentpole
The Essentials
• 8+ years of experience in digital media, sports media, planning or operations
• 3+ years of leading and managing teams
• Extensive knowledge and passion for sports and sports culture
• Awareness of Bleacher Report's voice + extensive knowledge of internet sports culture
• Deep experience working in a cross-functional role and getting stakeholder buy-in
• Project ownership experience, with examples of seeing a project thru from inception to post-mortem
• Results oriented, self-motivated
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
