Your Role
The Supervisor, Archives is expected to manage large-scale projects working with digital or physical assets at the direction of the Sr. Manager, Archives. These projects may require them to lead a team or work independently, with little to no direct supervision. Managing these projects would include scoping out and then procuring the necessary resources to successfully complete these projects on time, including but not limited to budgeting (capex and opex), staffing (internal or vendors), and acquiring support from upper management for their projects through pitch decks, presentations, etc.
The Supervisor, Archives must have excellent written and oral communication skills, a strong foundation in archival processing and cataloging theory and practice acquired from education or equivalent experience, and the proven ability to lead and inspire teams.
You Role Accountabilities
• Train or supervise archivists working on cataloging, digitization, processing, or other kinds of projects that require direct handling of unique primary sources, both digital and physical.
• Lead or assist in the development, budgeting, resource procurement, implementation, and oversight of Archives' cataloging, digitization, preservation, and auditing projects.
• Lead or assist in the writing of standard operating procedures, policies, RFPs (requests for proposals), SOWs (statement/scope of work)
• Provide material support to Sr. Manager, Archives in systems evaluations, metadata remediation efforts, cataloging normalization, and reporting on metrics for KPIs.
Qualifications & Experience
• 3 yrs minimum of supervisory experience overseeing a team and experience working with physical and digital archival collections in a Corporate, Archival, or library setting.
• Masters in Library Science, Archives Science, Museum Studies, or related experience in an archives or museum, preferred
• Experience using wide range of databases, including collection management systems, digital asset management systems, records management systems, etc.
• Experience writing SOPs, RFPs, policies, and other documentation to support best archival practices
• Experience evaluating new systems tools as parts of POCs, as well as helping onboard new workflows and tools
• Working knowledge of current archival cataloging and descriptive standards
• Working knowledge of current preservation standards (digital and physical) for archives collections
• Experience working with digital assets, including transformation and management software
• Knowledge of film & television history, production design, art history, costume design, and entertainment media
• Knowledge of Warner Bros., New Line, HBO, TBS, and Discovery Original Programming, character names, artists, and performers
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with vendors, partners, and staff
• Self-starter with demonstrated initiative, ability to work independently and in groups, and ability to prioritize complex tasks to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Exceptional problem-solving skills
• Ability to embrace change and adapt to new processes and procedures
• Excellent interpersonal skills and strong attention to detail
