We are looking for a bold, visionary, and culturally fluent Vice President of Social to lead the creative, strategic and operational direction of Social across EMEA for HBO Max.
Your Role Accountabilities
Strategic & Creative Leadership:
• Own the end-to-end Social strategy for HBO Max across EMEA, ensuring alignment with subscriber growth, engagement and retention goals
• Translate business and content priorities into breakthrough social campaigns that drive measurable impact - across HBO originals, returning series, local productions, sports and major film titles launching on the platform
• Lead the development of platform-native, culturally resonant content that positions our brands at the forefront of entertainment and digital conversation
• Champion a social-first mindset across the Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) organisation, embedding social thinking into campaign development from the outset
Business Impact & Strategic Ownership:
• Drive Social as a core lever for HBO Max growth, connecting content and campaigns to KPIs such as acquisition, retention, brand equity and earned media value
• Build and implement a robust measurement framework to track performance, optimise strategy and demonstrate ROI
• Partner with analytics, insights and media teams to ensure data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement
Content Innovation & Fan Engagement:
• Lead the creation of bold, video-first and experimental content across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, X, Threads, WhatsApp and emerging platforms
• Develop real-time content strategies that respond to cultural moments, entertainment news and fan behaviour - whether it's a surprise trailer drop, a viral scene from a new HBO drama, or a streaming debut of a major film
• Build immersive fan experiences that turn casual viewers into loyal communities and superfans - especially around premieres, finales and franchise milestones
• Ensure content is localised and culturally relevant across EMEA markets, reflecting diverse voices, humour and storytelling traditions
Influencer & Creative Strategy:
• Build and scale a differentiated influencer and creator program that drives reach, relevance and resonance across genres - from prestige drama and fantasy epics to superhero blockbusters and beloved legacy IP
• Cultivate long-term relationships with creators, tastemakers and digital talent across the region
• Lead co-creation initiatives that go beyond sponsorships - focusing on authentic storytelling, community-powered content and first-look access
• Leverage your extensive network to unlock high-impact collaborations and strategic partnerships that amplify our content and brand
Team Leadership & Culture:
• Hire, develop and inspire a high-performing team of Social creatives, strategists and community managers across EMEA
• Foster a culture of creativity, experimentation and agility - where bold ideas are encouraged and celebrated
• Provide clear direction, mentorship and feedback to ensure excellence in execution and innovation at scale
• Collaborate closely with global and regional stakeholders across HBO Max marketing, PR, programming, talent and legal to ensure social is integrated into every campaign - from teaser to launch to fan sustain
Qualifications & Experience?
• Extensive progressive experience in Social, digital marketing, or content leadership roles, ideally within entertainment, streaming, or digital-first consumer brands
• Proven track record of leading large, diverse teams (20+), with a strong emphasis on creative excellence, innovation and operational rigour
• Deep understanding of digital entertainment culture, fan behaviour and platform trends across EMEA
• Demonstrated ability to connect social strategy to HBO Max business KPIs and deliver measurable results
• Strong executive presence and communication skills, with experience influencing senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams
• Extensive network of creators, influencers, platform partners and cultural tastemakers across the region.
• Experience working with high-profile talent, creatives and executives
• Passion for entertainment and a deep appreciation for storytelling, fandom and cultural nuance - especially across HBO, Warner Bros. films (in their streaming window), DC Comics and the Wizarding World

Hybrid Working - This role is advertised as a Hybrid work model, that combines remote and in-office work, following our current company policy and to be agreed with your Line Manager.
