The Vice President of Communications, DTC and International, will work closely with the WBD Streaming team to promote new product features and launches, tell stories about DTC technology innovation, amplify consumer activation campaigns, and coordinate PR and communications efforts globally on behalf of HBO Max, discovery+ and the company's planned enhanced app, to be launched next year. They are responsible for a portfolio of DTC executives, tasked with placing high impact press stories in entertainment, technology and business publications as well as securing speaking opportunities at high profile industry festivals and events throughout the year. They will manage a team ranging from coordinator to director and will report to the SVP, Communications, DTC.
In addition, they will have oversight for external and internal Communications for the President of WBD International. Working in conjunction with the Communications leads in LatAm, EMEA and APAC, they will run press relations and employee engagement for the senior executive and guide on overall company messaging.
The Daily
• Build and manage public profiles for portfolio of DTC executives and President of International
• Provide executive comms sport for WBD's Head of International
• Lead PR roll out of WBD's enhanced streaming product
• Partner closely with Product Experience team and DTC Engineering team to communicate product feature updates and to tell the story of how HBO Max is an innovator in the streaming space
• Partner with CMO and marketing leadership team to tell stories of marketing innovation and extend reach of promotion campaigns via targeted earned media opportunities
• Secure high profile speaking and interview opportunities for Streaming executives at strategic moments throughout the year
• Work with ex-US comms teams to align on strategic PR plans for streaming products around the world
• Manage team ranging from coordinator to director, responsible for setting goals, providing timely feedback and direction
The Essentials
• 10+ years corporate communications experience at a major television or streaming brand.
• Strong relationships at key business and trade publications, with a particular focus on technology, entertainment and marketing (Wired, FastCompany, TechCrunch, Adweek, etc.)
• Relationships with organizers at key festivals such as SXSW, CES, etc.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to generate opportunities for multiple executives at a time
• Experience managing a team, with proven ability to help direct reports sets and achieve goals and develop in their careers
• Strong communication, presentation skills and positive team collaboration is a must
• Understanding of current dynamic entertainment landscape and consumer trends, as well as shifts in our business needs.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field
In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles that will be performed in New York City. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $134,400.00 - $249,600.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros.
