Sr. Technical Program Manager, International - HBO Max
As a Senior Technical Program Manager focused on Global Delivery and Localization, you will spearhead and manage the localization of HBO Max applications and services. You'll work cross-functionally with product management, experience design, engineering, quality assurance, and release management to promote globalization and localizability best-practices. In addition, you will help build and manage a burgeoning localization process to bring world-class streaming applications to new markets. You'll create and drive key world-readiness requirements into feature design and development, communicate regularly with stakeholders, and manage the relationship and deliverables with a localization vendor. You will provide a critical role in helping teams working on the HBO Max product understand what is possible and assist in shaping how we prioritize, staff, and execute on the realization of becoming the first choice in digital entertainment for our customers in all markets.
The Daily
• Develop and promote localization best practices across multiple disciplines, including UX Design, Engineering, QA and Release Management.
• Build a modern and innovative localization process from the ground up!
• Formulate a point of view on how feature development cycles can mature to account for release into multiple languages and multiple markets.
• Ensure best-in-class linguistic and functional quality across all supported markets for our global products.
• Build collaborative relationships with partner organizations located around the world.
• Develop and scale our applications for a global audience.
The Essentials
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to target communications up, down, and across the organization and to external partners.
• Systems thinking and a strong sense of ownership to drive complex programs with interdependencies that require definition from the ground up.
• Direct experience managing software localization projects or team.
• Proven track record of delivering services or applications into multiple markets.
• Familiarity with managing external localization vendors.
• First-rate project management skills, including the ability to balance multiple, sometimes competing, priorities with date-driven timelines and a solid understanding of risk management.
• Emotional intelligence to lead through influence, while building a culture of teamwork and inclusiveness.
• Familiarity with digital subscription products.
• Technical aptitude to work closely with software engineers.
• Experience with agile software development methodologies.
• Analytical skills to dive into usage data and performance metrics.

• Experience in a media/streaming video company.
• Direct experience managing budgets and running RFPs.
• Understanding of machine translation strategies for optimization.
