How do I hire a Director Of Publicity & Activations - HBO Max LATAM? Create the strategy for and manage the day-to-day activities of the HBO MAX LATAM PR department. The overall objective is to drive and further develop the long-range press strategy and public facing profile of HBO MAX LATAM in order to maximize positive exposure in local, regional and international markets. The Director, PR operates as a spokesperson while also guiding the company's executives on press inquiries and statements. Key areas of responsibility include content-driven PR (including Local Original Productions), media relations, corporate comms, talent handling, events, influencer strategy and monitoring, collecting and evaluating press coverage reports from all territories.
• Increase brand awareness and consideration strategically through editorial coverage of HBO MAX LATAM's content and business in all territories.
• Plan and execute events in support of marketing strategy, including HBO Max global and local programming launches
• Plan and execute brand activation campaigns, including experiential and on-site marketing events
• Manage a strong team of local PR managers, continuously setting the goals and maintain a solid network of local key journalists and influencers in all territories.
• By leading and guiding the PR department, maximize the overall press coverage in each of HBO MAX LATAM's territories, increasing brand awareness and consideration.
• Handle negative/sensitive stories and support company executives in handling media and press inquiries.
• Provide regular updates for HBO MAX LATAM management and WM stakeholders on upcoming stories and announcements, including timing and strategy.
• Position HBO MAX LATAM Original Productions and related talents and stakeholders not only locally, but also clearly in international trade and business publications, developing an awareness of the strength and breadth of HBO MAX LATAM's productions.
• Partner closely with the Global HBO MAX PR & Communication teams, ensuring that HBO MAX LATAM priorities and needs feed into longer-term strategy planning and also to ensure alignment of HBO MAX LATAM PR with global plans and ways of working
• Build and maintain collaborative links with other WarnerMedia PR teams in the LATAM Region to facilitate enterprise-wide synergies
• In the short-term: hire the team in partnership with HR and Talent Acquisition
• Bachelor's degree and/or relevant experience; MBA a plus
• 10 years developing and driving PR & external comms initiatives in LATAM market
• 5 years leading a PR team in the LATAM market, including building a team from scratch
• Demonstrated expertise in building and maintaining a wide strong network of media contacts and influencers
• A genuine, enthusiastic and passionate fan of HBO MAX with excitement for our content and product
• Experience of influencing and communicating brilliantly across cross-functional and matrixed organizations at all levels, particularly at more senior levels
• Fluency in English, Spanish and/or Portuguese essential
