DAILIES OPERATOR
Leading feature film, television, and commercial post-production facility in Santa Monica, specializing in dailies, offline editorial, visual effects, picture post, and sound post, seeks experienced Dailies Operators for full-time and freelance roles. The ideal candidates for this role will have at least 2 - 3 years of relevant experience in a video post-production environment, preferably with dailies, and will be highly motivated to meet facility and client needs and to learn new skills. The Dailies Operator will report directly to a HARBOR Dailies Manager or Producer and will be expected to work both in-lab and on periodic remote assignments.
Specific duties include but are not limited to the following:
• Operate dailies systems for multiple ongoing projects
• Tag and log scene metadata, pre-syncing audio
• Prepare Avid media for delivery to editorial
• Transcode files
• Perform quality control procedures systematically and thoroughly
• Archive and verify LTO elements
• Prepare materials for shipping, correctly and carefully, including label creation and application
• Maintain accurate session notes and maintaining shared cloud documents
• Engage in training exercises to expand skill set
• Attend pre-production meetings with clients and staff
Required background and qualifications:
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
• Knowledge of Avid editorial software, color correction, and general post-production processes
• Understanding of various codecs and their specified purposes
• Positive working relationships with clients and staff
• Strong problems-solving skills
• Ability to manage workload, meet deadlines, and multi-task
• Willingness and ability to work rotating shifts, graveyard shifts, and weekends
• Ability to travel out of state/country for extended periods of time
