Selected candidates will work directly with the Artistic Director and a small team of festival programmers; be a core member of the Screening Committee for feature & short film submissions; participate in all aspects of the curation process; correspond with filmmakers from all over the world; and assist staff with festival database maintenance & other administrative duties. This position will be held remotely, though there is potential for NYC-based interns to attend a few in-person meetings.

Excellent organizational, communication, and writing skills.

Must be available for the entire duration of the internship (May - end of August).
Compensation
HIFF offers interns the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in a non-profit art organization; develop skills in film curation, event production, and project management; and to gain exposure to the independent film industry. Though unpaid, this is an excellent opportunity to participate in the programming process of an international film festival, and for many past interns, has translated into paid opportunities in top positions in the field. Interns who successfully complete their internship will receive a complimentary Industry Pass to the 2025 edition of the Festival.
