One of the Holmes Report's top Consumer PR Agencies in North America, H+M Communications is looking for Fall interns to join our award winning multicultural team in LA. You will be supporting day-to-day activities for a variety of clients in the entertainment, fitness, sports, and technology industries.
This is an opportunity for a smart, creative and motivated candidate to learn from a dynamic team of communications professionals.
Responsibilities:
• Participate in team brainstorms for upcoming campaigns
• Support the team with media relations outreach (pithcing)
• Draft pitches for media, promo partners, journalists, and influencers
• Research and update new Hispanic media and influencer contacts
• Research trends within the TV/consumer/entertainment industry to better improve our pitch angles and strategies
• Draft event recaps/campaign recaps
• Maintain clip reports up to date; screenshot online clips and compile them into a PDF Binder (part of client reporting)
• Update client reports with new coverage/placements
• Draft and format press clips in an email format to send to client
• Research events in the top Hispanic DMA's where the agency can promote our clients
• Create screening and event directives for the agency's street team
• Order event supplies and help create shipping charts for promotional items prior to grassroots events
• Create internal schedules for press days, as well as talent schedules
• Support the team with logistics needed for a PA tour or press day (booking cars, hotels, groomers, vendors)
• Help track campaign budget and internal out-of-pocket expenses
• Join weekly calls and provide call recaps/notes for the team; help create internal agendas
Qualifications:
• Eligible to receive college and/or course credit
• Currently pursuing a degree in Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, Business or English
• The applicant should possess excellent writing and communications skills, be detail oriented, organized, personable and be able to work on a variety of projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
• Applicant must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel), as well as be Social Networking/Internet savvy
