Short-Form Video Editor / Post Pipeline Lead
GUS Entertainment
Los Angeles, CAThis is a Freelance Job
This is an in-person role near Silver Lake / Koreatown, starting around 3 days per week with potential to grow into a full-time contract role as volume expands.
This is not a pure social media management role. You will not be responsible for shooting. The core job is editing, finishing, organizing, and owning the post-production workflow after footage is captured.
What you'll do:
• Edit high-quality short-form videos for Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and other social platforms.
• Cut for hooks, pacing, retention, story, humor, and emotional payoff.
• Work with Sony FX3 footage, including log footage, basic color correction, and clean finishing.
• Add captions, sound design, music, light motion graphics, and platform-specific polish.
• Manage ingest, file organization, project setup, exports, delivery, and revisions.
• Upload and organize footage/projects on our UGREEN NAS / shared storage system.
• Keep the post pipeline clean so the creative and shooting teams can move faster.
• Collaborate with producers, directors, and on-camera talent while still taking ownership of the edit.
• Target roughly 7-14 finished short-form edits per week depending on complexity, revision load, and campaign priorities.
What we're looking for:
• A competitive reel with strong short-form/social edits.
• Experience editing footage from cinema/mirrorless cameras, ideally Sony FX3.
• Comfortable working with S-Log3, S-Cinetone, LUTs, and basic color management.
• Strong taste in pacing, music, sound design, captions, and social-first storytelling.
• Proficiency in Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, or a comparable professional workflow. Premiere and/or Resolve preferred.
• Organized project/media management habits.
• Comfort with shared storage, NAS workflows, backups, and handoff discipline.
• Ability to work in person in Los Angeles near Silver Lake / Koreatown.
• Fast enough to handle volume without making the edits feel cheap.
• Low ego, clear communication, and a real sense of ownership.
Nice to have:
• Experience with food, creator, podcast, music, lifestyle, or branded social content.
• Basic motion graphics/After Effects skills.
• Experience creating vertical edits from longer-form footage.
• Understanding of analytics and how retention affects edit decisions.
• Assistant editor or media manager experience.
Schedule/location: In person near Silver Lake / Koreatown, approximately 3 days per week to start, with potential to expand to more days or a full-time contractor role.
Salary/Benefits
$4,500 - $6,000 /month USD
Potential full-time contractor path: approximately $7,500/month as volume expands.
