JOB TITLE:

REPORTS TO:
Studio Director, Senior Stage Managers
POSITION SUMMARY:
GUM Studios is searching for a Stage Manager to join our team in a fast-paced production/studio environment. We are looking for a detail-oriented person who is an adept communicator with strong client relation skills and the ability to wear many hats in a dynamic studio setting. Shift times will vary to meet the needs of clients, requiring some nights and weekends.
Applicants must have at least 2 years of experience in a photo and/or production environment, with some familiarity in lighting and grip equipment. The Stage Manager takes initiative to confront problems and find solutions. The position oversees every facet of the day-to-day management and maintenance of the stages, providing support to the production companies that work with us. As an integral part of the studio-client concierge team, the Stage Manager maintains the studios and its amenities, maintaining the appearance of the stage. The Stage Manager is also responsible for tracking GUM's inventory of production support rental items using inventory tracking software. The Stage Manager communicates to the rest of the Stage team to efficiently meet the needs of our clients.
GUM serves the needs of top tier clients in the NYC film and television industry. Our stages host shoots of all genres and production companies of all sizes. GUM employees are required to wear a mask on request. We sanitize our equipment and studio surfaces daily; Vaccinations are required per NYC's employer mandate except for religious and medical exemptions.
OVERVIEW:
- Work closely with GUM stage crew in complete client care from prep to wrap
- Independently open and close studio according to GUM stage procedures and checklist
- Contribute to the management and maintenance of studio facilities
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Studio Administration
- Neatly stage rental equipment to fulfill production supply orders
- Receive, fulfill, and track client equipment and supply additional equipment at request from crew
- Manage inventories of production supplies and house expendables
- Complete routine and special tasks
- Stage Management
- Open and close studios
- Anticipating and fulfilling client needs
- Monitor and manage studio facility, ensuring optimal appearance and function of the space and its amenities
- Receive, organize, and manage same-day supply orders, fulfilling from house stocks or coordinating transfers as needed
- Maintain studio maintenance, completing routine and specially assigned tasks
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 2 years experience in a photo and film production environment
- Entry level knowledge with lighting and grip equipment used in the television and film industry
- Comfortable with computer based tasks and willing to learn GUM project management apps
- Full-time, night, and weekend availability
- Able to lift up to 50lbs
COMPENSATION:
$23-$27 per hour depending on experience. This starting salary is a preliminary offer while we get to know each other over roughly the first 3 months. Once a full-time employee for 90 days, you will be eligible for our generous benefits offerings, which includes at least 75 percent subsidized medical group plans, 99 percent subsidized dental and vision group plans, 401(k), paid time off, commute expense reimbursements, and other benefits.
