Gulfshore Playhouse, a mission-driven, professional theatre company located in Naples, Florida, is seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented and organized individual to serve as Webmaster/Developer, providing web support to the marketing and IT team.
Gulfshore Playhouse offers a diverse season of straight plays and musicals ranging from venerated classics and Broadway hits to contemporary works and world premieres. The Playhouse is passionately committed to producing high-quality, professional theatre which exceeds the expectations of the cultured residents and visitors of Naples, FL, many of whom are regular theatre patrons in New York, Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C.
Gulfshore Playhouse recently opened the Baker Theatre and Education Center, a state-of-the-art facility, featuring a 368-seat Broadway-sized mainstage, a 125-seat flexible space, rehearsal studios, classrooms, and rental space. In 2022, Gulfshore Playhouse became nationally recognized as the 77th member of the League of Resident Theatres (LORT). This is an extraordinarily exciting time for the Playhouse, which is experiencing unprecedented growth, and the Webmaster/Developer will have the opportunity to continue to refine the patron experience online.
Status: Full-time, year-round position
Start Date: Late May/June
Reporting directly to the Chief Marketing Officer, the Webmaster/Developer is responsible for maintaining and enhancing our digital presence, ensuring a seamless and engaging experience for our patrons, donors, and artists. The Webmaster/Developer will be responsible for managing the theatre's website, ensuring functionality, security, and performance. This role involves website design, development, maintenance, and troubleshooting, along with implementing digital solutions to improve user experience, ticket sales, and fundraising efforts.
The ideal individual will have a strong drive to provide high-quality work, the ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations, with strong communication, administrative, and organizational skills. The Playhouse values hard work, kindness, generosity, passion, and grace-under-pressure. The Webmaster/Developer may be expected to work extended hours when necessary to meet goals. Some weekend and evening hours are required including attendance at Opening Nights, special events, and/or meetings that may happen outside normal hours.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain, update, and optimize the theatre's website (WordPress).
Ensure website security, performance, and responsiveness across all devices.
Manage and build online ticketing integration, donation platforms, and event pages.
Troubleshoot technical issues and implement timely fixes.
Develop and execute SEO strategies to improve visibility and traffic.
Coordinate website updates, including show announcements, news, and blog content.
Collaborate with the marketing team to implement digital campaigns, landing pages, and multimedia content.
Improve accessibility and user experience to ensure inclusivity.
Analyze website performance and make data-driven improvements.
Maintain compliance with web accessibility standards and best practices.
Qualifications & Skills:
Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP.
Experience with CMS platforms (WordPress or similar).
Knowledge of SEO, Google Analytics, and website optimization.
Familiarity with e-commerce, ticketing, and donation platforms.
Understanding of web security and data privacy best practices.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
Experience with graphic design tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva) is a plus.
Passion for the arts and non-profit work is a plus!
