Full Time Job
Leading independent distributor is looking to hire a Manager of Acquisitions. Candidates should be based in Los Angeles or Cleveland and should be comfortable with traveling to film festivals. Prior experience negotiating feature deals is preferred. Candidates must have experience working in an extremely fast-paced environment, must have a positive attitude and be willing to work the hours and do whatever it takes to get the job done. The role will require working with the Director of Acquisitions to represent the company in the best light to filmmakers and the sales/acquisitions community.
Responsibilities:
- Sourcing and negotiating over 300 feature film yearly for Theatrical and VOD distribution.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with filmmakers and sales agents
- Develop P&L reports and comps
- Track and attend major film festivals in North America
- Communicate and coordinate information across departments
- Manage title release calendar
Qualifications:
- Self-starter with the ability to multi-task and work on several projects simultaneously
- Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Deep historical knowledge of film, both past and present, and love of film
- Ability to apply research and relationship skills to develop relationships
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of entertainment industry work experience
- 3-5 years of acquisitions, distribution and or sales experience required
- College degree required; MBA, MFA or JD strongly preferred
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Outlook and Excel
- Knowledge of FIlmTrack preferred
