Full Time Job
Goodyear Ballpark is seeking an outgoing, energetic and skilled performer to help debut our new mascot! The mascot will be revealed on opening day 2019. We are looking for an experienced individual to help bring the character to life and develop the personality it will carry on for years to come.
The mascot performer will work closely with the promotions team and in-game host to create a fun, lively atmosphere and keep the crowd entertained. The performer will be representing the ballpark and both of its spring training teams, the Cleveland Indians and Cincinnati Reds. It is crucial that candidates have a strong work ethic, positive attitude and creative personality.
Goodyear Ballpark is looking for candidates with open availability from February 18 through March 24, 2019. In addition to spring training games, the mascot will also be scheduled year-round for community appearances and events, which would include nights and weekends.
Top candidates will be invited for a live audition, to be held on February 15, 2019.
Mascot Operations
• Perform as the mascot at all spring training games and community events.
• Assist in creating skits and in-game mascot entertainment.
• Full responsibility of in-house maintenance and care of the mascot equipment.
• Represent the ballpark in a professional manner.
Qualifications
• Must be in good health and able to be confined to the suit for long periods of time.
• Strong stage presence; comfortable performing in front of large crowds.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Able to withstand and perform in all weather conditions.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Basic knowledge of baseball.
Requirements
• Must be 18 years old.
• Due to the size of our new mascot, ideal candidates are between 5'8 and 5'10 tall, weighing between 140-190 lbs.
• Valid driver's license; clean driving record and reliable transportation.
• Previous mascot experience.
• Dance / entertainment background is a plus.
• Local candidates only. Must live in the Phoenix metro area year-round.
