Paid Internship for NYC Independent Label
Goodnight Records
Brooklyn, NYThis is a Part Time Paid Internship
Goodnight Records is an independent record label and publishing company based in Williamsburg, Brooklyn that is looking for paid interns to start immediately. Since its founding in 2004, Goodnight has released some great records by bands from all over the country and has partnered with larger independent labels such as Merge Records to produce specialty co-releases for their artists. We are strongly influenced by the DIY ethos of various 1980's and 1990's independent music cultures, but we fully embrace the changing industry environment and tend to view most contemporary trends as fresh iterations of previously established methods such as mix-tapes, zines, postering, compilations, and guerrilla touring. That being said, we are inspired by innovation and pursue it relentlessly.
We are a small group of 4 fully committed individuals, and collectively the staff at Goodnight has experience working at Domino Records, Ace Fu Records, Downtown Records, Blue Hammock Records, Boosey & Hawkes Publishing, Sound Performance USA, The Harry Fox Agency, The Deli Magazine and more. These next few months we're going to be releasing some fantastic records and expanding the scope of our publishing wing, Goodnight Rock Songs. We'll be working with PR firms and online distributors, booking shows both locally and regionally, pursuing branding partnerships and syncronization placements, and working with our partners in the publishing world. A precocious young intern can develop a catholic understanding of the business as the independent level. This would also provide an excellent opportunity to build a strong, diverse range of contacts within the music industry at the independent level.
Tasks include:
Coordinating bookings with talent buyers through Northeast and Mid-Atlantic for Goodnight Artists.
Managing online assets for Goodnight Records artists.
Coordinate requests/needs of Publicity Firm.
