Manager Design Production- Goldenvoice
Job Summary
The Manager Design Production (may also be referred to as Festival Mapper) is responsible for drafting festival blueprints, creating designs, preparing models, and planning a construction workflow from conceptual phase to implementation for events. This position works closely with the Production team and other related departments to ensure that production needs are met, the overall festival design reflects those needs and also ensures that the festival team's site plans are fully executed.
Essential Functions
• Develop and maintain festival site plans, scaled drawings, and mapping documentation using Vectorworks and other industry-standard drafting and design software.
• Conduct detailed site analysis, including venue infrastructure, underground utilities, landscape features, and building layouts, while ensuring compliance with applicable building codes, zoning regulations, fire safety requirements, and ADA standards.
• Collaborate with Festival Production, Public Safety, Festival Directors, vendors, engineers, and cross-functional teams to design and refine festival layouts that support operational, logistical and safety requirements.
• Review structural plans and construction documents with civil and structural engineers and integrate stakeholder feedback to deliver efficient, functional site designs.
• Partner with Production, internal departments and vendors throughout the planning and execution process to ensure accurate field mark-outs, asset placement, and as-built documentation for stages, tents, trailers, generators, and other festival infrastructure.
• Verify final asset locations and quantities and maintain up-to-date drawing records.
• Support project planning and operational readiness by preparing mapping materials and presentations, forecasting project needs, procuring and maintaining mapping supplies and equipment, and managing consistent file organization, distribution, archival, and documentation standards for all production drawings and related records.
Required Qualifications
• BA/BS Degree (4-year) Advanced degree in architecture, engineering, design or other related fields preferred.
• 2-4 years of related experience
• Experience attending and/or working in live events or festivals preferred
• Excellent written, verbal and listening communication skills
• Strong computer skills with proficiency in Vectorworks, CAD and other BIM and 3D modeling software.
• Familiar with Surveying Equipment and ability to learn new and emerging design technology
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple design change requests that come from all festival departments
• Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Must be able to travel to festival locations and spend long periods of time on site and in various weather elements
• Must be able to work varying schedule including nights, weekends, and some holidays
