Video Operator (Part-Time)
About the Position
The Golden State Warriors and Chase Center are looking for a Video Operators (Video Shaders) to oversee all camera systems, signal flow and picture quality of the live video shown on our scoreboard. In this role, you will take a hands-on approach in collaborating with the production and engineering staff to ensure our cameras produce the highest quality video possible. You will be part of the first line of support for any camera technical issues during events while working effectively to ensure a smooth production.

This is a part-time position based onsite in San Francisco, CA.
Willingness and ability to provide proof of completed COVID-19 vaccination will be required. All religious, medical, or other legally recognized exemptions regarding vaccination status will be considered.
Key Responsibilities
• Serve as point of contact for all live video signals at Chase Center, including operated cameras, robotic cameras and video connections to and from the broadcast TV trucks
• Ensure all GSW provided camera equipment is game ready: Sony HDC3500 cameras, SMPTE cabling, lenses, tripods
• Assist camera operators and GSW staff in properly building/striking all camera equipment, including cables, tripods, handheld cameras and RF camera technology, making sure any issues are communicated to staff
• Confirm and fax all camera signals and intercom communication with operators during the setup process
• Operate video shading equipment in a live sports environment to ensure that all camera shots are colored and shaded properly throughout the event
• Evaluate current technology in all properties for life expectancy, repair and replacement
• Maintain knowledge and know the latest technological advances in cameras, lenses, IP video routing, testing and calibration equipment
• Other duties as assigned
Required Experience & Skills
• Passion for professional basketball
• Minimum 3 years as a video operator in live television sports or board show production
• Thorough knowledge of calibration and monitoring equipment including alignment and color charts, waveform monitors, vector scopes and other video tools
• Knowledge of video signal flow in an SDI baseband and IP video environment with basic knowledge of SMTPE 2110 video
• Knowledge/ability to maintain and clean terminations/connectors to various types of cables such as coaxial, twisted pair, and optical fiber cables that carry SDI video, AES and analog audio, RF and IP signals
• Interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with control room staff, camera operators, and broadcast truck production staff
• Self-starter with a ''can-do'' attitude, able to work independently, take initiative in fulfilling job responsibilities, and communicate effectively in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications
• Familiarity with the following broadcast standards:
• SMPTE 2110, AES67, MADI, Dante, DMX, MXF, MPEG 2, MPEG 4, RS-422, RS-232
• Professional network and broadcast certifications
• CCENT, Network or higher. SBE certifications
• Professional operating experience with cameras, video switchers, audio consoles, replay and graphics machines
• Specific experience with Tektronix/Telestream video monitoring equipment and Imagine Communications video routing infrastructure
Time Commitment
• Must be able to work majority of Warriors home games (i.e., evenings, weekends, holidays, etc.) from October to June (preseason, regular season and potential playoff games) including evenings, weekends and holidays (other non-Warriors events may be required)
• Ability to work other non-Warriors related events as needed
Physical Demands
• Ability to lift and operate to cameras (i.e., up to 50 lbs.)
• Ability to walk, stand, and sit for extended periods of time while operating equipment
• Ability to carefully control equipment through crowded areas including some stair climbing
