This is a Full Time Job
This is a full-time position based onsite in Oakland CA.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the implementation and onsite execution of basketball camps, clinics, and specialized training sessions, including full event setup and breakdown
• Serve as the lead for customized training at our Oakland facility, facilitating high-level sessions and ''training the trainers'' to ensure coaching consistency
• Manage facility opening and closing procedures, ensuring a safe and professional environment during assigned weekdays and weekends
• Collaborate across departments to promote Academy programming via social media, email/CRM campaigns, and digital platforms
• Support Junior Golden State partner relations and actively recruit new partners to expand our reach
• Design and launch initiatives specifically aimed at increasing participation among underrepresented groups in sports
• Cultivate a robust professional network within the Bay Area youth basketball landscape, including schools and athletic districts
• Assist with camper ticket redemption and distribution
• Act as a primary authority on all Academy services, providing superior communication and support to participants and families
• Utilize registration platforms to manage user profiles, maintain participant databases, and generate demographic impact reports
• Oversee inventory for camp supplies, merchandise, and promotional prizes, while managing the distribution of camp tickets and credits
• Coach and guide part-time team members to perform and maintain high coaching standards
• Perform other duties as assigned
Required Experience & Skills
• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 2 years playing/coaching basketball and/or experience in the local youth basketball community
• Experience with program planning/execution, customer service, marketing & promotion, and staff development
• Flexibility and poise with the ability to anticipate change in a dynamic work environment
• Passionate about youth basketball development/grass roots youth sports and the opportunity to impact lives both on and off the court
• Exceptional communication, leadership and interpersonal skills for building relationships and motivating staff
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and relevant POS/CRM systems, and registration platforms.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
Travel and Physical Demands
• Must possess a valid driver's license and have the ability to travel independently
• Ability to exert up to 40 lbs. of force occasionally, up to 15 lbs. of force frequently, and up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects
Time Commitment
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and some holidays, based on business needs and franchisee schedules.
