About the Position

The Golden State Warriors and Chase Center are looking for a Risk Manager to ensure a comprehensive and effective risk management program. In this role, you will liaise with insurance brokers, support litigation, and provide education and support to staff and senior management, as appropriate. This position reports to the Associate General Counsel_.

This is a full-time position based in San Francisco, CA.

Willingness and ability to provide proof of completed COVID-19 vaccination (including booster, if eligible) will be required. All religious, medical, or other legally recognized exemptions regarding vaccination status will be considered.

Key Responsibilities
• Partner with the legal, financial, security and guest services teams on an ongoing basis to identify risks and implement risk strategies for GSW, Chase Center and Thrive City
• Prepare, review and respond to incident reports following each game and event occurring in or around Chase Center
• Review vendor contracts as requested, to ensure appropriate coverage and identify possible exposure
• Review and manage company insurance policies; build relationships with brokers and carriers to understand risk exposure and track market trends
• Coordinate and provide ongoing risk assessments, evaluations, reports, and training for staff in risk identification and avoidance measures; communicate with senior management as appropriate
• Partner with internal staff, brokers and underwriters on annual renewals
• Work with Chief Legal Officer and outside counsel to evaluate incoming complaints and recommend action
• Act as primary liaison between internal personnel and third-party claims management teams
• Manage claims throughout lifecycle from reporting to final settlement to optimize both cost effectiveness and timely closure
• Manage the insurance broker relationship to drive accountability for service and deliverables
• Study industry best practices related to risk financing

Required Experience & Skills
• Bachelor's degree, preferably in risk management/finance, or equivalent experience
• Professional Risk Manager (PRM) certification is a plus
• Minimum 5 years working in risk, particularly within the events or sports and entertainment industry
• Solid understanding of risk management and insurance industry
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
• Ability to identify and prioritize competing issues and objectives
• Experience with insurance policies and working with outside legal counsel
• Strong communication, negotiation and resolution skills
• Ability to build positive relationships with clients and peers at all levels within the organization
• Ability to balance multiple projects at once in a fast-paced work environment
