Manager, Community (Golden State Valkyries)

About the Position:
The Golden State Valkyries are looking for a Manager, Community to lead the development and execution of social responsibility and community initiatives. This position will work with internal teams such as marketing, partnerships, and communications to align community impact efforts with the organization’s goals. The role requires a blend of strategic thinking, creative vision, and operational expertise. It reports directly to the Director, Community.

Key Responsibilities:
• Manage day-to-day activities of the Community department.
• Develop and execute programs that support the Valkyries’ social responsibility mission and WNBA Cares objectives.
• Foster relationships with Valkyries fan/supporter groups and manage the auction and ticket donation process.
• Collaborate with Corporate Partnerships to onboard partners and develop community initiatives.
• Build and maintain relationships with community partners, including non-profit organizations and community leaders.
• Represent the Valkyries at community events across the San Francisco Bay Area.
• Assist in developing standard operating procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Experience & Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in community affairs, cause-marketing, or corporate social responsibility.
• Strong attention to detail and project management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to build partnerships and collaborate across industries (sports, non-profit, education, technology, government).
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Passion for professional basketball, live entertainment, and social issues.

Time Commitment:
• Ability to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends.

Compensation:
• $42.00 - $44.00 per hour plus bonus.
