Finance Coordinator, BBOPS (GSV)
About the Position
The Golden State Valkyries are looking for a Finance Coordinator to serve as a critical liaison between our Basketball Operations (BBOPS) and Finance teams to ensure accurate spend and accounts payable reconciliations for the month-end and year-end closing process. To be successful in this role, you will have a strong accounting/application background with a deep understanding of accounting principles. This position reports to the General Manager.
This is a full-time position based onsite in Oakland, CA.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee BBOPS expense reporting; ensure accuracy and timely submissions
• Coordinate with external vendors and suppliers to ensure expenses are accurate and paid on time
• Lead the distribution and reporting of players, coaches, and team per diem
• Support day-to-day financial activities (e.g., payment review, accounts payable activities, accounts receivable reporting/invoicing, reconciliations, etc.)
• Review all accounting transactions to ensure proper coding, complete month-end/year-end closing tasks and variance analysis as needed
• Track BBOPS spend versus budget
• Assist in the preparation of audit requests as needed
• Other duties as assigned
Required Experience and Skills
• Bachelor's degree, preferably in Finance/Accounting, or equivalent work experience
• Minimum 3 years of accounts receivable experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel); Netsuite experience preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication, service, and resolution skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of pertinent company data
• Ability to build positive relationships with partners and peers at all levels within the organization
• Ability to balance multiple projects at once in a fast-paced work environment
