This is a Full Time Job
A unique and diverse position that combines time in the office working with film production companies with outdoor farming and maintenance on an 800-acre filming ranch. The amount of time in either of the two focus areas of this position is determined by business needs and moving from the office to the field or from the field to the office can occur on a daily or even hourly basis. The hours will vary based on production and Ranch needs, and overtime is very common. Working weekends and holidays are also not uncommon. There is a close interface with the environment and wildlife, including snakes, coyotes, and most other animals common to the rural regions of California. Due to the 1500' elevation of the Ranch, the weather can vary from below freezing to well above 100 degrees F.
Responsibilities:
Production/Office:
• Act as the liaison between the Ranch and the client (directors, producers, location managers, and other production crew members) including booking and coordinating all filming activities and ranch operations from initial inquiry through final billing
• Day-to-day coordination of film crews
• Coordination of production scouting
• Oversee prep, shoot, and strike operations with production companies
• Ensure crews comply with ranch policies
• Coordinating various productions with their crew and our ranch operations
• Contracting of production companies
• General office administration duties (answering phones, ordering supplies, cleaning the office)
• Conduct tours
• Monitor sets for maintenance
• Work off-hours and weekends as required to manage production
• Pickups and deliveries as required
• Update production calendar
• Tracking paperwork
• Setting-up and maintaining production files
• Disseminating Information (Insurance forms, contracts, etc.)
• Assist with marketing the ranch
• Other duties as assigned
• Participate in daily briefings
• SAP
• Invoices
• Creation of POs
• Time entries
• Expense reports
• Credit card reconciliation
• Event coordination and planning
• Community outreach
• Month and year to date reports
• Significant overtime required
Operations:
• Will assist in all facets of Ranch operations, including farming, film, construction, production, horticulture, and forestry
• Irrigation
• Tractor operations
• Trenching
• Pipework
• Agricultural spraying
• Basic construction
• Maintenance including painting, cleaning, and light welding (to be taught)
• Planting
• Wildlife interaction, including snake relocation and monitoring of wildlife cameras
• Tree work (planting, pruning, removing)
• Crisis preparation and support
• Fire fighting
• Earthquakes
• Flood
• Medical aids
• Other as required
• Grading
• Landscaping
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree
• Agricultural, Horticultural or Agronomy experience/background
• Excel/Word/Outlook competent
• Ability to work in a challenging and changing environment
• Valid California driver's license
• Ability to traverse rough terrain
Preferred Qualifications:
• Familiar with SAP
• Bilingual in English and Spanish
• Farm/construction equipment experience
