Vice President, Events Production
Golden Globe Awards
Los Angeles, CAThis is a Full Time Job
Golden Globes is seeking a VP, Events Production to lead the strategy, planning, and execution of the full portfolio of events that extend the Golden Globes brand beyond the annual awards telecast, as well as support other Dick Clark Productions (DCP) events. This newly created role is designed to meet the growing volume and ambition of the Globes and DCP's year-round events calendar – including Golden Week programming, ancillary awards-season events, curated bespoke experiences, and large-scale partner and brand activations.
Reporting to the President, Golden Globes, this role will build and lead the production infrastructure – team, vendors, budgets, and process – needed to deliver a consistently elevated, on-brand experience across every Golden Globes and DCP touchpoint outside of the core show production. This is a highly visible, builder role for an event production leader who wants to shape what the Golden Globes brand looks and feels like in every room it shows up in.
The ideal candidate is a highly creative, operationally excellent, and entrepreneurially minded production leader with a passion for delivering world-class experiences at every scale – from an intimate nominee dinner to a large branded activation. This role requires a confident, collaborative professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment and brings a robust network of industry contacts, vendors, and technical talent.
Scope of Portfolio
This role is dedicated to Golden Globes event production, owning four connected programming pillars, with support for other DCP events, distinct from – but closely coordinated with – the core awards show production team:
Golden Week
The multi-day arc of programming that surrounds the ceremony – nominee celebrations, press days, official partner dinners, talent gifting experiences, and other flagship moments that build anticipation and extend the show's visibility across the week.
Ancillary Awards-Season Events
FYC events, nominee and press receptions, satellite and press-tour events, and other awards-season touchpoints that keep the Golden Globes brand present throughout the season, not only on show night.
Curated Bespoke Experiences
Smaller-footprint, high-touch events – intimate dinners, talent and press experiences, VIP moments – that require a different production posture than a large show: white-glove, brand-forward, and highly curated.
Large-Scale & Partner Productions
Big-footprint events outside the annual telecast – brand and sponsor activations, live experiences, and new event formats – that grow the Golden Globes' presence, revenue, and cultural relevance year-round.
Key Responsibilities
Portfolio Leadership & Strategy
• Own the end-to-end events production strategy for all Golden Globes events outside the core awards telecast, including Golden Week, ancillary awards-season events, bespoke curated experiences, and large-scale partner productions.
• Build and manage the annual events calendar and roadmap across the full portfolio, sequencing overlapping workstreams throughout awards season and beyond.
• Partner closely with the awards show production team and the President, Golden Globes to ensure brand, creative, and experiential consistency across every Golden Globes touchpoint.
• Identify and pitch new curated, bespoke, and large-scale event formats that extend the Golden Globes brand, deepen partner relationships, and open new revenue opportunities.
Production Execution
• Own the full production lifecycle for each event in the portfolio: concepting, pre-production planning, vendor management, on-site execution, and post-event wrap and reconciliation.
• Lead production for multiple simultaneous events of varying scale and format – from intimate bespoke dinners to large branded activations – each with its own creative brief, budget, and stakeholder set.
• Oversee all production elements, including venue logistics, staging, lighting, video, scenic design, catering, credentialing, and technical operations, calibrated to the scale and tone of each event.
• Establish and enforce production timelines, run-of-show documents, call sheets, contact sheets, and credentialing systems appropriate to each event type.
Financial & Vendor Management
• Develop and manage production budgets, P&Ls, and cost reporting across the full portfolio; partner closely with Finance on budget submission and reconciliation.
• Manage and grow a network of external vendors, production partners, talent teams, and technical crews; identify, evaluate, and onboard new partners to support the growing volume and variety of events.
• Negotiate vendor and production contracts, balancing cost discipline with the elevated experience the Golden Globes and DCP brands require.
Cross-Functional Partnership
• Partner with the sponsorship team to design and execute sponsor activations and branded event experiences that fit naturally within Golden Week and the broader ancillary calendar.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with sponsorship, PR, legal, business affairs, and talent relations to align all production elements with brand and business objectives.
Required Qualifications
• At least 8 years of experience in live event production, with significant experience producing events across a range of scales – from intimate curated experiences to large-scale productions.
• Demonstrated expertise overseeing full production operations, including budgeting, vendor negotiation, on-site logistics, and technical production.
• Proven ability to lead multiple concurrent productions of varying scale and format in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Strong network of industry contacts, including vendors, crews, staging, lighting, catering, and AV production partners.
• Excellent financial acumen, with experience managing large production budgets and P&Ls.
• Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail, with the ability to hold a high bar for quality across events of very different footprints.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present confidently to senior leadership, partners, and external stakeholders.
• Willingness and ability to travel and work extended hours, including evenings and weekends, during awards season and peak production windows.
• Demonstrated understanding of the Golden Globes brand and a deep appreciation for the entertainment and awards-season landscape.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience producing intimate, high-touch, or bespoke brand experiences in addition to large-scale events.
• Existing relationships within the Hollywood awards community, studios, and network/streamer partners.
• Experience working in a media company or entertainment production environment.
• Prior people management experience, with a track record of building and developing production talent.
