''The ideal Digital and Disc QC Technician will possess at least 3 years of experience working with various formats of digital video and physical sources, including expertise in Netflix and iTunes packages as well as DVD, Blu-ray, and UHD Blu-ray.
A keen attention to detail is essential. In this role, the QC Operator will perform technical evaluations of all audio and video elements, compare features, content, and functionality to project specifications, identify issues and inconsistencies, and verify that end products align with client preferences. In addition to linear QC of feature and episodic content, the QC Operator will also conduct package QC reviews of contents and metadata and occasional navigation reviews of DVD and Blu-ray discs. Great opportunity for someone who is a team oriented, technically skilled, systems oriented, and has an overall ''''Roll Up Your Sleeves'''' approach to troubleshooting.''
Requirements:
The ability to complete linear QC reviews of digital video/audio files to platform specifications when needed (iTunes, Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, etc)
Well versed in metadata and packaging checks for multiple platforms (iTunes, Hulu, Amazon, Google, etc)
Expertise understanding of various platforms specs common in digital distribution (iTunes, Netflix, Amazon, etc)
Expertise knowledge of various a/v formats (Pro-Res, mp4, etc) and timed text formats and behavior (.scc, .itt, etc)
A solid understanding of 4K (UHD), HDR, and IMF is required
Blu-ray HDMV and BD-J navigation QC experience
Knowledge of various high dynamic range technologies such as Dolby Vision, HLG, and HDR10+.
The ability to work in Final Cut Pro and Priemere as a day-to-day workflow
Evaluating quality of and checking for errors in digital video/audio assets
Describing and identifying severity of issues in video/audio assets
Confirming basic technical requirements
Submitting reports based on findings
Error checking and verifying XML documents prior to delivery
Navigation QC for DVD and Blu-ray (as needed)
QC of interactive projects including websites, banner ads, and mobile apps (as needed)
A strong familiarity with a variety of digital platform specs - Netflix, iTunes, Google, Amazon, etc
Strong attention to detail, especially in evaluating workload/deadline projections at top level
Abide by security policies
Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years' experience in an operational role.
Understanding of Video compression and various codecs used by VOD platforms and broadcasters.
Ability to work with minimal direction while managing heavy workload.
Strong organization skills and ability to prioritize and meet tight deadlines.
Flexibility to switch among different tasks day to day and with work schedule.
Enjoy work in a fast paced environment.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Keen attention to detail.
Positive, can-do attitude and team player.
Exceptional customer service skills, including the ability to translate technical knowledge into easy to understand language.
Ability to work flexible shifts if needed (AM, PM, Weekends).
