We are a Hollywood-based post-production facility, providing editorial and finishing services for network TV shows, series, and award specials. We are looking for a Systems Engineer to help keep our systems running and improve our processes. The job covers a wide variety of technologies, from TCP/IP to 12G-SDI, NLE to MDM, with plenty of opportunity for learning and growth, where no two days are alike. We are therefore open to diverse applicant backgrounds, whether you have strong experience in IT and would love to work in television, or the other way around.
This is a stable, long-term, full-time position. Benefits include health insurance, dental & vision plans, 401(k), life insurance, PTO, and on-the-job training. You will be reporting to the Director of Engineering.
Due to the amount of on-prem hardware infrastructure we have, this is an on-site position.
Duties:
Troubleshoot day-to-day client issues and solve problems for editors, colorists and producers
Deploy new systems, install and configure desktop software
Work closely with the Director of Engineering, assisting in hardware & software upgrades and maintenance
Partake in research and implementation of new systems to automate and improve our infrastructure
Qualifications:
2-5 years of experience in one or more of the fields of IT Support, IT Engineering, Video Engineering, Broadcast Engineering, System Administration, or Network Administration.
Fast learner with a propensity for grasping new technology
Experience configuring and maintaining Mac computers
Experience with Windows workstations and desktops
Strong interpersonal skills, working well with our team and directly with our clients
Enjoys technology and working with people
Preferred qualifications:
· Working experience in the film, television, or media industries
· Avid and DaVinci Resolve software
· OS X Administration / MDM
· Business networking equipment: firewalls, routers, VPNs
· Programming / scripting in Python or Javascript
