We are looking for a Manager of Production Finance to assist, manage & maintain established systems for the Production Finance department. This position will be based in our West Hollywood office and will report to the Vice President of Production Finance.
The ideal candidate will be highly detail-oriented, able to process many simultaneous tasks with accuracy, have strong communication skills, can manage multiple processes simultaneously, and take the initiative to drive process improvements.
Responsibilities:
• Coordinate and manage pre-production/wrap on various productions including but not limited to: budget review and analysis, bank account(s)set up, payroll/accounting system(s) set up, ordering check stock/PO's & production cash flow.
• Assist VP with review of weekly production finance deliverables including: ledger bibles, cost reports, balance sheets, check registers and purchase orders to ensure accuracy and strict policy adherence
• Assist Production Finance and Accounting team with monthly and quarterly reporting as needed.
• Respond to internal and external audits by researching and supplying source data and documentation.
• Assist VP with Budget estimates for various productions as well as maintain, update and revise Budget templates.
• Coordinate with Entertainment Partners to ensure that projects are properly set up (Global Vista, Smart Start, etc).
• Assist and provide guidance with production accounting database systems and administration.
• Coordinate the payments for Accounts Payable, Payroll and Petty cash on productions as needed (prep/wrap).
• Assist VP with the fiscal management and administration of both internal and external facets of productions.
• Plan and perform AD Hoc reports and projects as needed and as directed by VP of Production Finance.
Skills / Qualities We're Looking For:
• Highly motivated to own all aspects of production finance for various TV/film & animated productions autonomously.
• Attention to detail required and is the most valuable quality for this position.
• Ability to learn quickly, self-review, check accuracy of work, develop systems to catch errors, and more importantly learn from mistakes.
• Superb work ethic and a calm temperament under pressure.
• Forward thinker who can conceptualize the need for and effectively implement process improvements.
• Curious, passionate, and enthusiastic about entertainment production/ finance / accounting.
• Willingness to challenge the status quo, to advocate for Gaumont culture and to always act in Gaumont's best interest
Education / Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting or Business Administration preferred
• Must have experience working in TV/Film production accounting/finance. 2+ years of experience preferred.
• Strong Excel skills required.
• GV, PSL, MMB, Scenchronize & Smart: Accounting, Time & Start experience required.
