The Unpaid Litigation Intern will provide legal litigation, administrative and paralegal support to entertainment lawyer, Gary A. Watson. Gary's practice covers some litigation and all aspects of entertainment law, including film, television, theater and music (see below for the biography and resume for Gary A. Watson, Esq.). The Intern will have exposure to litigation and the creative, business and legal aspects of the entertainment industry. The Intern's responsibilities will include such legal, administrative and paralegal support as answering phones, managing calls, managing calendar, drafting e-mail, pleadings, correspondence and documents, word processing, creating spread sheets, billing and collections, ordering supplies and maintaining files.
Those who apply for the Unpaid Litigation Intern position should be mature, responsible, self motivated, hard working, detail oriented, tech savvy, personable and able to work under the pressure of the demands of deadlines and a heavy work load. Applicants should type 60 words per minute or more and have strong proofreading skills. Applicants should have experience with, and ideally a strong working knowledge of, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. Applicants should have excellent phone skills. Experience in billing and collections is preferred, but not essential. Applicants should posses the ability to learn quickly and with a minimal amount of training.
