Role Summary:
The Director, Business Development will lead G4's efforts on new business initiatives and growth areas. Primary areas of focus will include business and partner management for a focused multi-channel network on YouTube, and a studio facilities rental initiative leveraging G4's multi-stage production studio/office headquarters in the Los Angeles area. This role requires frequent cross-functional collaboration and must work closely with sales, distribution and studio operations, analytics, finance, and business affairs, and must be adept at managing a variety of external partners. The ideal candidate will have experience with YouTube, digital content creators, and/or digital media production. This role will report to the VP, Business Affairs and support the Chief Revenue Officer for G4.
Day-to-day responsibilities include identifying and pitching prospective partners for new business initiatives, managing deal negotiations with business affairs, and oversight of on-going business operations in coordination with the distribution and studio operations teams.
Successful candidates will have a strong working knowledge and passion for the creator economy. Leveraging a network of production entities they will call upon prospective companies to offer G4's premium studio and resources. They will be a creative problem solver and flexible in developing partnership deals
Essential Responsibilities:
• Lead business development efforts for G4's multi-channel network and studio rentals business by building high impact relationships and managing cross-functional alignment of internal partners
• Identify high impact partnership opportunities in a data-informed manner
• Work with internal teams from initial negotiations through execution of contracts to ensure successful long-term partnerships
• Manage relationships as a primary point of contact following deal execution
• Advocate for partner needs and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders on solutions
• P&L management for new business initiatives in coordination with finance stakeholders
Qualifications/Requirements :
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree or higher (MBA preferred)
• 5 years or more working experience in the entertainment industry in a business development or partnerships role (digital media preferred)Strong business and financial acumen
• Experience collaboratively solving problems
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Excited by the prospect of building new lines of business
Additional Qualifications:
• Knowledge and understanding of digital media ecosystems, particularly YouTube
• Passion for gaming, esports, and/or geek fandoms
