POSITION SUMMARY
Fuse Media is currently seeking a Vice President of Talent for the Original Content team. The VP will take a lead role in recruiting and managing talent for original content for all FUSE platforms with a focus/expertise in music and pop-culture. The VP will also be responsible for overseeing talent discovery (including scouting, research of new talent and influencers), talent booking and all talent relations. This position will work closely across FUSE development teams to help identify talent to build specific content around. Additionally, this role will be responsible for the planning, logistics, and oversight of talent for special events, including other marketing or promotional initiatives that would require talent and/or outside celebrity talent. The VP will be expected to have a working knowledge of, and strong relationships with, talent and their agents, managers, publicists as well as record companies. Experience working in digital and linear worlds is necessary. This position is based in Glendale, C.A. and reports to the Chief Content Officer.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Implement booking strategies for talent across FUSE platforms
• Lead talent relations and booking initiatives across pop-culture, music and lifestyle verticals for programming, events, campaigns etc. and support senior management business goals and programming needs
• Build relationships, communicate FUSE's brand mission and opportunities to the creative community to ensure that FUSE is the go-to studio for top tier talent
• Provide on-site management and support for talent appearances
• Interact with internal and external producers; work with production management and legal to execute smart production plans and deals on behalf of the company as it pertains to digital talent. Oversee payment process for influencers and creators
• Collaborate and coordinate with Social, Marketing, Press and Research departments on various issues and serve as the first line of communication between talent, management and other departments across the company
• Partner with internal development teams to brainstorm talent vehicles and opportunities that could fit into the FUSE brand
• Track pop-culture, TV/You Tube, film, music, and all other current events
• Manage Talent Coordinator/Booker and any other appointed direct reports
• Attend shoots when necessary to meet with talent, management, label POCs, and their teams
• Attend out-of-office events to create new and cultivate existing relationships/partnerships
• Manage all venue, partnership, agency and vendor deliverables, internal approval process
• Manage the delivery of content for social and promotion assets to management teams and label relations
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree in related field or an equivalent combination of skills, training and hands-on experience
• 10-15 years' experience in talent relations, management and talent development within the entertainment industry; experience working with celebrities and musical artists as well as experience working with social media influencers a must.
• Working knowledge of talent contracts and negotiation/deal making skills
• Extensive knowledge of digital talent, digital and social platforms and how they work, as well as the media industry as a whole
• Knowledge and genuine passion for all things pop-culture, music, celebrity and lifestyle trends. Ideally someone who has worked with GenZ/millennials brands.
• Highly organized, ability to work under pressure with strong time/project management skills
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams while building and managing relationships
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with analytical and instinctual problem-solving capabilities
