ABOUT THIS ROLE
Fulwell Entertainment is looking for a VP, Strategy & Business Development to help drive the company's next phase of growth.
This role sits at the intersection of corporate strategy, business development and partnership operations and successful candidates will possess a strong existing and evolving understanding of the media and entertainment landscape. They must be able to quickly evaluate new opportunities, organize internal stakeholders, and help move high-priority business development initiatives from idea to execution.
The ideal candidate combines strong strategic thinking, commercial judgment, financial fluency, and exceptional execution. They are comfortable operating in ambiguity, quickly assessing opportunities, organizing stakeholders, and helping move high-priority initiatives from idea to execution
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Development Execution
• Manage priority business development opportunities across Fulwell's key business areas, including film, television, digital, branded entertainment, live, talent-led ventures, and new IP initiatives.
• Evaluate inbound and internally generated opportunities to determine strategic fit, commercial value, required resources, and next steps.
• Help structure and advance partnership conversations with talent, brands, distributors, platforms, agencies, production partners, and other external stakeholders.
• Translate early-stage opportunities into clear internal materials, business cases, deal summaries, and action plans.
• Track active BD workstreams, maintain momentum, and ensure next steps are clearly owned across internal teams.
• Drive internal coordination across active opportunities, ensuring stakeholders are aligned, decisions are made efficiently, and key context, risks, and next steps remain visible.
Strategic Planning & Internal Alignment
• Support Fulwell's long-term strategic planning process and help translate company priorities into actionable business development initiatives.
• Work closely with senior leadership and department heads to align around priority opportunities, resource needs, deal implications, and execution plans.
• Help prepare strategic materials for internal leadership, board discussions, partner conversations, and external pitches.
• Synthesize market trends, competitive dynamics, and internal business priorities into clear recommendations.
• Create structure around ambiguous opportunities so leadership can make faster and better decisions.
Commercial & Financial Analysis
• Build lightweight business plans, financial models, and opportunity assessments for new initiatives.
• Evaluate deal economics, revenue potential, cost implications, risk, and strategic upside.
• Support term discussions by helping clarify business logic, deal structure, value drivers, and negotiation priorities.
• Read budgets, revenue forecasts, and income statements to assess whether an opportunity is commercially attractive.
• Pressure-test whether new ideas can become viable, repeatable, and scalable business opportunities.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
• 7-10 years of experience across strategy, business development, partnerships, corporate development, consulting, talent representation, media, sports, entertainment, or adjacent industries, with a demonstrated track record of driving commercial outcomes.
• Strong understanding of the media and entertainment ecosystem, including content, talent, distribution, licensing, brand partnerships, digital, and/or live experiences.
• Proven ability to identify, evaluate, structure, and execute strategic partnerships, investments, or growth opportunities from initial concept through launch and ongoing management.
• Experience leading commercial discussions, negotiations, and cross-functional deal processes, with sound judgment and the ability to balance creative, operational, and financial considerations.
• Strong financial acumen, including experience building business cases, financial models, market analyses, and investment frameworks to support decision-making.
• Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize ambiguous information into clear recommendations and actionable next steps.
• Strong project leadership and execution capabilities, with the ability to independently manage multiple high-priority workstreams and drive initiatives from idea to implementation.
• Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate effectively across creative, production, legal, finance, talent, and executive stakeholders, both internally and externally.
• Strong relationships and credibility within media, entertainment, sports, brand, agency, and talent ecosystems, with the ability to cultivate and expand strategic networks over time.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to create concise memos, executive materials, presentations, and business recommendations for senior leadership.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a willingness to operate both strategically and tactically. Comfortable rolling up sleeves, navigating ambiguity, and doing the detailed work required to move opportunities forward in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
• High emotional intelligence, strong judgment, and a collaborative, low-ego approach that enables effective partnership across all levels of the organization.

Salary/Benefits
$190,000 - $225,000 /year USD
