This is a Part Time Job
Full Spectrum Features NFP seeks a part- time to full-time Media Manager who is passionate about racial/gender justice and the power of cinema and storytelling to effect social change. The Media Manager will play a pivotal role in managing and optimizing media assets throughout the post-production process. This individual will be responsible for overseeing the organization, storage, and distribution of media files, ensuring seamless workflows and efficient collaboration among team members from production to post.
Responsibilities:
-Work closely with the camera team to receive and organize raw film footage on set.
-Ingest digital media files into the Silverstack Lab software, ensuring accurate metadata entry and file organization.
-Perform quality checks on incoming footage to ensure technical integrity and adherence to production standards.
-Transcode raw film footage into editable file formats using Silverstack Lab, following project specifications and requirements.
-Monitor transcoding processes and troubleshoot any errors or issues that may arise during the encoding process.
-Establish naming conventions, metadata standards, and file structures to facilitate easy retrieval and usage of media assets.
-Identify inefficiencies in media management processes and implement solutions to improve efficiency and quality.
-Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to media formats, codecs, or compatibility.
-Implement an LTO archive to preserve media assets for long-term storage and future use.
-Serve as a central point of contact for media-related inquiries and requests from team members.
-Foster a collaborative and communicative environment to facilitate effective teamwork and knowledge sharing.
-Utilize Easy DCP and DCP-o-matic software to create Digital Cinema Packages (DCPs) for our film projects, including creating VFs and AD track channels ensuring compatibility with cinema projection systems.
-Perform quality control checks on DCPs to ensure audiovisual integrity, synchronization, and compliance with cinema specifications.
-Troubleshoot technical issues related to DCP creation, including formatting errors, audiovisual discrepancies, and compatibility issues.
-Communicate effectively with external partners, including cinemas, film festivals, and distribution companies, to facilitate the delivery of DCPs for screenings and exhibitions.
-Collaborate with the post-production supervisor and other team members to streamline DCP creation workflows and optimize production timelines.
Qualifications:The ideal candidate will be organized, prompt, professional, eager to learn, and have exceptional communication and teamwork skills.
-1+ years of experience in media management or post-production workflows, preferably in a film or video production environment.
-Knowledge of (or a willingness to learn) LTO, Silverstack Lab, EasyDCP, and DCP-o-matic.
-Proficiency with digital asset management systems, video editing software, and media transcoding tools.
-Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage large volumes of media files efficiently.
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multiple teams.
-Knowledge of industry-standard file formats, codecs, and technical specifications for video, audio, and graphics.
-Familiarity with NAS and cloud storage solutions and remote collaboration tools.
