full coverage communications is seeking a Director to join our team in Los Angeles, reporting to the company's President. We are looking for a candidate with minimum 5 years' experience in entertainment PR/strategic communications and established relationships across entertainment media spanning music, television, film, and beyond. Candidate must be a self-starter with ability to initiate, plan and execute multiple comprehensive strategic communication campaigns across established A-list clients as well as rising talent. Strong writing, leadership, pitching and client management skills are required. The ideal candidate will have a strong pulse on the evolving media landscape and be expected to secure top tier media placements on a consistent basis. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Initiate, plan and execute comprehensive strategic communication campaigns for multiple clients at a time
• Develop strong story angles and consistently pitch across broadcast, print, and digital media at both national and regional level
• Secure top tier, strategic media placements on a consistent basis
• Work in tandem with other publicists across client campaigns and support teams throughout the company to ensure timely delivery of client-facing communications
• Work directly with client teams and lead client communication, providing strategic counsel in a rapidlychanging, fast-moving media landscape and news cycle
• Cover client events, press days and appearances as needed with professional demeanor and critical thinking skills
• Develop potential new business opportunities with an eye on upcoming talent and projects
• Keep up-to-date on music, entertainment, fashion, film, TV and other cultural touchstones and events and the media opportunities around them
• Organizing and handling incoming press requests, including liaising with clients to execute offers to fruition
• Ongoing internal communication regarding media updates and press opportunities
• Ensuring client press materials/bios are current
• Participating in team brainstorms for client strategies and publicity plans, never being afraid to bring up an out-of-the-box idea
• Writing client press releases & other press-facing material
• Interacting with glam agents to book glam for clients as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum 5 years of experience working full-time in entertainment PR/strategic communications is required, with proven client/project management leadership skills across both long and short term projects
• Bachelor's Degree required
• Strong knowledge of the entertainment industry and relationships with entertainment and media reporters, producers and bookers
• Proven ability to create and execute media plans from conception to placement with attention to detail and follow through
• Passion for media and staying up to date on trends & coverage across the industry
• Excellent writing skills across multiple mediums - press materials, pitches, client communication, etc. • Outstanding organizational skills
• Proven ability to anticipate needs and be resourceful
• Ability to provide leadership and manage supporting team members, nurturing growth within the company
• Team-oriented attitude and willingness to jump in as needed
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word), Google Drive/Docs & Dropbox
