Search for Manager, Production Finance (Scripted) jobs in Burbank-CA
The Manager, Scripted Production Finance will provide support to Scripted Production and Development teams including but not limited to provide strategic day-to-day support relating to tactical transactions, payroll, escalating concerns and/or problem areas to management, as well as being a liaison to Entertainment Partners. This position will report to the SVP, Scripted Production Finance.
Responsibilities
• Collaborate with Production Accounting teams to ensure that policies and procedures are uniformly implemented in accordance with standards established by Bertelsmann
• Coordinate and assist production accounting and corporate finance teams to drive complete and timely, monthly, and quarterly financial reporting processes
• Responsible for distribution of bank and corporate reconciliations, payroll, production bank accounts, corporate cards, and cashflow in varying currencies
• Act as the primary point of contact between Entertainment Partners and Fremantle, including setting up new shows
• Work with Development teams on project payroll and AP, as well as during the wrap of shows
• Accounting for international projects filming
• Handles production tax coordination of 1099, 592 and 1042 forms
• Assist with third party compliance audits, network audits and internal compliance audits for all production accounting teams
• Identify and address bottlenecks quickly and communicate issues with management in a timely manner
• Responsible for above the line paperwork, pulling cost reports, balance sheets and assist with residuals when necessary
• Collaborate with Fremantle Finance in closing of production bank accounts in a timely manner
• Stay abreast of current and changing industry trends pertaining to rate increases, year-end tax reporting, compliance issues and evolving technologies
Requirements
• 5+ years of scripted production accounting experience
• Previous experience in a supervisory role at a production company or studio strongly preferred
• Thorough understanding of tax credits and incentives
• Advanced understanding of production accounting on scripted shows including guilds and union rules
• Experience working with Business & Legal Affairs and excellent cross-collaboration skills
• Mastery of all standard industry software including Entertainment Partners Global Vista Accounting, Smart Accounting, Movie Magic, and the Microsoft suite
• Broad experience in accounting for various types of scripted programming including broadcast, cable, hour, half hour, and mini-series preferred
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and work well under pressure
