FoxNext is driving immersive, next generation entertainment experiences in the areas of augmented and virtual reality, mobile, console/PC games and location-based entertainment across Twentieth Century Fox Film and Fox Networks Group. The division consists of FoxNext Games, FoxNext VR Studio and FoxNext Destinations. Fox has a successful track record of creating critically acclaimed games including The Simpsons: Tapped Out, Angry Birds Rio, Alien: Isolation, Family Guy: The Quest for Stuff, Ice Age Adventures, and Sugar Smash: Book of Life. Aftershock, a division of FoxNext Games, has a number of projects in development including an all new mobile game based on the expansive Marvel Universe, and a massively multiplayer mobile strategy game for James Cameron's Avatar franchise. A AAA PC/console game set In the world of Avatar is in development with Massive Entertainment, a Ubisoft Studio. FoxNext VR Studio is in development on Alien and Planet of the Apes VR experiences. FoxNext Destinations will further lead the development of location based entertainment business with the success of the 2017 THEA award winner Springfield, USA and 2008 THEA award winner The Simpsons Ride at Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando, Avatar: Discover Pandora, a new interactive exhibition inspired by the breathtaking environments and inspirational cultures of Pandora, and the development of the 20th Century Fox World theme park in Malaysia.

We make cutting edge mobile games, that push the boundaries of what modern devices are capable of. Currently, we are hard at work developing multiple fantastic games, involving some of the biggest intellectual property in the world. DAILY TASKS:
There are a wide variety areas for people to work on, and we want people to work where they can both feel passionate and make an impact with what they do. Responsibilities for Engineers can include:
• Work on a multi-discipline team that will positively affect our community of players
• Work closely with artists, designers, and other engineers to create and iterate on game concepts
• Develop techniques for rendering high fidelity graphics on an incredibly wide range of target devices
• Help build and deploy a backend infrastructure capable of supporting millions of active users
• Improve the data pipeline, allowing us to understand how our users interact with our games and what they like to do
• Create live operations tools that allow us to update the game and create new experiences for players every day
Learning Objectives:
• Gain knowledge and understanding of professional game development process
• Strengthen Software Engineering skills in both design and optimization
• Become familiar with the process of developing software as part of a large team
• Grow an understanding of service-based games and how content is regularly delivered to players
• Be able to develop a game feature that can impact millions of players
What qualifications you're looking for in a candidate:
• Enrolled in a Computer Science or Game Development program
• Solid CS fundamentals in algorithms and data structures
• Passionate about games and the process of making them
• Strong verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to contribute in a team environment
• Demonstrates self-motivation
To participate in Fox's Internship program you must meet the following criteria:
• Applicants must be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at an accredited university and be sophomore status or above.
• Be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship by the Company.
• Housing is not provided, so please have a housing option guaranteed before applying.
