Nexstar Broadcasting's station seeks a Video Journalist/Reporter to be a part of its Sacramento Bureau. This position will cover politics at the State Capitol, providing stories to Nexstar stations across California.
This will be a regular, full-time position.
This position is responsible to originate research, shoot video, write, edit, produce stories and report live.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Must be an excellent storyteller
• Must have a significant interest in California politics
• A superior ability to originate, research, write, shoot, produce and edit stories
• Ability to work well with people in a high-pressure environment
• Willingness and interest in experimenting in new ways to tell stories
• Manage regular engagement in digital platforms
• Maintain a polished professional appearance
• Position may require employee to work early morning or late-night shift
• Ideal candidates must be self-starters, hard workers, have great attitudes, be versatile, and efficient
• Will be trained to use reporting equipment including a live mobile backpack
• Management reserves the discretion to add or modify job duties as required
