Fox News Media is looking for a proven leader to help oversee fast-paced national news hours on one of the most dynamic, hardworking teams in the country. As the Senior Coordinating Producer, you will help oversee planning and execution for our highly-rated weekend daytime news programming. You are versatile and can pivot from a slow news day to wall-to-wall spot news coverage as it happens. You are forward-looking and know how to plan news events, and react to breaking news. You'll have an important voice in assigning reporters all across the country, booking compelling guests and overseeing the focus of both news and feature segments. You're driven to beat the competition while always serving the public with the most factual, up-to-date information available. You have a good grasp of politics/Washington DC and your news judgment should be second to none.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Participate in editorial decisions for content for the show - day of and future
• Work closely with different anchors on weekends and be in contact with them during the week
• Set the editorial and production standards and provide leadership in the newsroom
• Manage teams, which include bookers, line producers, writers, AP's, and PA's
• Look ahead and help to plan coverage based on special events scheduled for weekends
• React to breaking news and ensure the right content is getting on the air as news happens
• Work during the week and day of air to share content, story pitches and ideas
• Work with reporters on assignments, focus, angles, scripts and accuracy
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• 8 years of newsroom experience and producing / line producing a television newscast
• Experience overseeing teams of writers, AP's, assignment editors and producers
• Knowledge and passion for current events and politics
• Proven track record of leadership and newscast ratings growth
• Excellent organizational and managerial skills as well as the ability to create an environment that fosters teamwork
• Decisive and skilled management of a control room
• Exceptional editorial skills: Ability to recognize stories with high potential for compelling television
• Detail-oriented and able to work under pressure and meet multiple daily deadlines
