Fox Broadcasting is being reborn as an innovative, independent broadcast network. We are looking for a Literary Scout from the publishing world to read books and shake the trees to identify compelling material to develop into programming.
This position can be based in New York or Los Angeles.
Responsibilities:
• Work closely with the division head implementing creative development strategy in all capacities. The focus will be on IP of books and formats for the division to option and develop.
• Partner with BA and production teams on deal and production matters as well as all aspects for producing (track, solicit, evaluate, procure, and develop).
• Participate on various projects including development and production duties such as pitch development, drafting script notes and on-set production duties.
Ideal Candidate
• 5 or more years of overall work experience in media and entertainment
• Track record developing commercially successful and/or critically-acclaimed television
• Direct relationships with publishers, book editors, and fiction/non-fiction literary agents
• Demonstrable writing skills and excellent knowledge of script and story structure
• Superior ability to lead meetings, present and communicate effectively
• Strong relationships within the creative community (agents, writers, producers, etc.) and senior executives
• A self-starting team player will have an entrepreneurial approach; be assertive, enthusiastic and highly motivated.
