Line Producer, News Night

This is a Full Time Job

Fox News @ Night is looking for a proactive and organized Line Producer with strong control room skills and great editorial judgment to join our D.C. team. As a Line Producer, you will craft great newscasts but also know how to throw out your show and run with major breaking news. You also have stellar communication skills, thrive in a fast-paced breaking news environment, and are looking to grow within the company and take on more responsibilities.

You will be offered the following shift: Daily, 3:00 PM – 12 AM, ET

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Build fast-paced newscasts
• Generate creative and innovative ideas for segments and pieces
• Communicate daily story development to the senior producer and executive producer
• Handle story placement, teases, graphics, writing, timing and all other editorial and production elements
• Copyedit banners and graphics and fact-check them to ensure quality control on-air
• Communicate with on-air talent, reporters and guests in the field, and the director and technical team to ensure the newscast runs as smoothly as possible
• Take part in editorial planning

WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• Bachelor's degree in journalism or a related field of study preferred, or equivalent experience
• 3-5 years of professional experience in a live television environment
• 2 years of professional experience in a live control room lining a show
• Thorough knowledge of current events
• Strong writing and copy-editing skills and a strong eye for detail
• Natural ability to write effectively and creatively
• Ability to work under intense deadline pressure in a newsroom and control room
• Ability to work and stack an everyday rundown and switch gears and roll with breaking news
• Flexibility to work nights, weekends and extended hours
