We are looking for a Field Technician to join our Washington, DC Bureau. As a Field Technician, you will be provided countless opportunities to work with other field photographers, satellite truck operators, engineers, field producers, and reporters.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• High level ENG field photography skills
• Single camera and multiple camera set-ups
• Audio for single and multiple camera set-ups
• Basic lighting for newsgathering and long formats
• Basic non-linear editing
• Safely driving company owned and rental vehicles
• Extensive, last minute travel for breaking news
• Work a nonstandard schedule, including overtime and weekends
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• Minimum of three (3) years newsgathering experience
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work well with field photographers, satellite truck operators, engineers, field producers, and reporters
• Willing to expand your knowledge of all aspects of field production including satellite truck operations (experience with operating Satellite Truck is a plus)
• Ability to multi-task in the field
• Varied technical TV media experience that will translate well into the fast-paced field newsgathering environment
• Working knowledge of field audio mixers
• Ability to mix and route audio for multiple camera shoots
• Proficient in mixing live remotes with IFB communications
• Experience with video photography and non-linear video editing
• Knowledge of lighting technologies, microwave trucks, and satellite news gathering vehicles
• A clean driving record
• Willing to be trained to drive a larger vehicle
• Flexible work schedule in order to adapt to a 24-hour news organization, including overtime and weekends
• Willing and available to travel last minute frequently
