JOB DESCRIPTION
FoxNews.com is looking for a Los Angeles-based entertainment reporter to cover red carpet and industry events, interview celebrity and break entertainment news. As the LA Reporter you are a self-starter who is comfortable speaking with celebrities and writing clean, error-free stories that will be posted on FoxNews.com.
Please note this is not an on-camera position and on-camera/ video production experience is not required.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Writing several bylined stories per day
• Attending events on behalf of FoxNews.com, interviewing stars and writing timely and newsworthy stories on the fly
• Working quickly and efficiently to identify, write, edit and publish entertainment and celebrity content that clicks on the homepage and is picked up by search engines and drives traffic through social media
• Pitching and writing original entertainment and celebrity features; rewriting original content from third-party sources
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• 3 years' experience working at a digital news or entertainment news outlet
• Strong social media presence and the ability to comb through social media platforms for leads and stories
• Ability to work nights and weekends as necessary
• Well-established industry contacts and sources
• Experience working with a CMS
• Knowledge of AP Style and best SEO practices
• Familiarity with Photoshop, analytics tools
