FOX Sports Digital is looking for an Editorial Programmer to join our team in Los Angeles, CA. As the Editorial Programmer, you will utilize real-time traffic, social listening, and search trend data to program the homepage of FOXSports.com and the FOX Sports app. You will also collaborate with our Stories editors to ensure the most important and top-performing Stories are served to fans around the clock on FOXSports.com and the FOX Sports App.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Analyze traffic and user behavior on FOXSports.com and the FOX Sports App to program FOX Sports' live scoreboards during big events
• Execute FOX Sports Digital's editorial alerts strategy, including but not limited to alerts tailored to specific talent, alerts for editorial Stories, and alerts for live games
• Leverage SEO best practices and perform extensive A/B testing on Stories headlines, descriptions, and thumbnail imagery to maximize readership and retention on FOXSports.com and the FOXSports App
• Help maintain and contribute to FOX Sports Digital's editorial calendar and content budget, planning for upcoming events, major milestones and content themes
• Demonstrate exceptional proficiency as a copy editor and writer of headlines and descriptions
• Quickly develop an expertise in which Stories, Topics, and strategies lead to audience growth, retention, and engagement that can be easily translated to colleagues across the FOX Sports organization, from executives to junior editors
• Display outstanding news judgment, skilled storytelling ability, thorough knowledge of digital best practices (including SEO, social platforms and content sharing), and a strong knowledge of journalistic principles and methods
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• At least 3 years of similar experience
• Basic arithmetic for reports/recap notes
• Deep knowledge of AP style writing
NICE TO HAVE, BUT NOT A DEAL BREAKER
• A Bachelor's degree is awesome but not required
• Adobe proficiency is a significant plus
