Fox Entertainment is seeking a Director, Business & Legal Affairs. As the Director, Business & Legal Affairs, you will primarily handle business & legal affairs matters in connection with Domestic and International Distribution on all platforms, as well as other business & legal affairs matters, including but not limited to marketing, promotions, and acquisitions. You will report to the Vice President, Business & Legal Affairs.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate and work with both the SVP of Business & Legal Affairs Content Sales and Distribution, and Sales & Distribution team, as well as VP, Business & Legal Affair on marketing and corporate issues
- Draft, review and negotiate Domestic and International Distribution agreements for multi-platforms, including but not limited to linear and non-linear exploitation (e.g., Network, Fast channels, AVOD, SVOD, etc.)
- Draft, review, and negotiate Acquisition agreements for Network and on-demand platforms
- Research, Analyze and review program rights for Sales purposes, including contract and Rightsline review
- Draft, review, and negotiate marketing agreements, including but not limited to vendor service agreements, promotion agreements, etc.
- Advise the Distribution, Marketing, Digital, and Publicity departments as well as others, regarding various topics including but not limited to rights and music availability, program and talent restrictions/obligations; guild requirements; and availability/restrictions of materials for promotional use
- Handle other general corporate legal matters that arise from time-to-time
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
- Juris Doctor Degree
- Minimum 2-3 years of attorney experience
- Working knowledge of entertainment industry practices, including but not limited to Domestic and International distribution, rights management, legal clearance issues, marketing, and guild requirements
- Ability to interact with all levels of personnel
- Strong drafting and issue-spotting skills
- Excellent attention to detail is a must
- Self-motivated and able to handle more than one project at a time and accurately assess the priority of assignments
- Ability to work as a team player with excellent communication skills
