The Trip Development Coordinator supports the Trip Development team. This team is responsible for developing new group Expeditions and new Private Expeditions for National Geographic Expeditions.
Responsibilities
• Trip Development Support: Create trip proposals using a standard word template and based on manager's suggestions. Write day-by-day itineraries following itinerary writing standards. Once accepted, prepare trips for reconciliation and handoff to operations team. Support Trip Development Manager with other projects/tasks as needed.
• Support Managers so they can handle higher volume of inquiries and provide proposals to clients in a timely manner.
• Create trip budgets using an excel template. Enter all cost information received from suppliers.
• Support Managers so they can handle higher volume of inquiries and provide proposals to clients in a timely manner.
• Enter and maintain accurate trip, passenger, and supplier information into our database. Update templates and procedures as needed, and keep trip development resources up to date and organized.
• Operator Relationships: Send quote requests based on guidance from the Managers.

Qualifications:
• B.A. degree and 1-2 years of related experience and/or training. Background in sales, customer service, marketing/writing, trip development, event planning, logistics, or working with luxury oriented clients. Some international travel experience is required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Candidates should also have the ability to clearly and effectively correspond with suppliers overseas where English is likely not their first language. Foreign language skills are a plus.
• Proficient in Excel for program budgeting. Demonstrated ability to anticipate problems, find creative solutions to challenging situations and present complicated information in a clear and simple manner.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Office, Excel, PowerPoint and common Internet browsers and applications. A background using QuickBase or other databases or CRM software is a plus.
• The candidate must be highly organized and able to multitask. Attention to detail is critical. Unwavering accuracy, excellent and systematic organizational skills and flawless attention to detail is necessary. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
