• Check headlines and text before publishing for any potential legal issues, such as libelous statements or breach of copyright
• Write and enable alerts for breaking news, network programming changes and other significant sports updates
• Manage and schedule promotional graphics to appear in the Ticker at designated times throughout the day and week and coordinate with the Marketing department on the content, timing and delivery
• Interface with the Creative Services, Operations, Graphics and Digital departments to improve the Ticker from a design, operational and user-experience perspective while also helping to conceive new product features
• Assist in establishing the department's editorial guidelines and overseeing a team of freelance/part-time Ticker Copy Editors
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• 4+ years of editorial experience required, preferably in the online or TV medium
• Proven sports knowledge
• Familiarity working with Content Management Systems (CMS) and online publishing tools
• Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook required)

• Strong critical thinking, news judgment, decision-making, planning, detail-orientation and a sense of urgency
• Excellent communication (written and verbal) and organizational skills
• Must be willing to work nights, weekends and holidays, whenever Sports are on the air
NICE TO HAVE, BUT NOT A DEAL BREAKER
• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, English or other related degree
