JOB DESCRIPTION
Assists the Camera & Staging artists by technically preparing files for efficient work flow and department use while acting as a technical liaison to other areas of production.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
-Prepare files for the Camera and Staging Dept.
-Assemble character and set files to be used by the Camera and Staging artist.
-Test Character and prop rigs.
-Check scale relationships of objects.
-Follow up on status/availability of characters, props and set pieces.
-Develop tools that continue to improve the workflow of Camera and Staging.
-Provide technical information for C&S in collaboration with other department Technical Assistants.
-Provide tech support to C&S artists through scripting and handling the technical aspects of the job.
-Responsible for understanding future departments needs. Technically checking and preparing finished C&S files to suit those needs.
-May also be asked to provide tech support for Previs team through scripting and handling the technical aspects.
Skills
, Abilities, Special Licenses or Certificate:
• -Experience with programming/scripting concepts a must.
(C, C , Python, C-Shell, MEL or other programming language)
-Familiarity with UNIX/Linux operating system.
-Familiarity with basic system administration.
(disk usage, navigation, understanding file and directory organization)
-Understanding of 3D animation.
- Knowledge of Maya and Photoshop.
-Technical troubleshooting and problem solving.
