Assistant News Director

KTTV Fox 11 is seeking an Assistant News Director who will be responsible for overseeing all day to day operations in the newsroom including all daily newscasts. The successful candidate will report directly to the Vice President, News Director. The chosen candidate will help manage and guide coverage across all broadcast and social media platforms. Responsibilities will also include long term planning, leading continuous big story coverage, the implementation of new and differentiated content strategies designed to transform and attract new viewers. The ideal candidate must have top market experience, a proven record of ratings success, strong leadership/mentoring skills and excellent news judgment. We are looking for an individual with a proven management track record. At least 5 years of local news management experience is mandatory. The candidate must have experience and knowledge in budget analysis and controls. Must be able to work closely and effectively with external and internal personnel including the General Manager's office, Sales, Finance, Programming and Human Resources.

College degree. Must possess management experience in a top 20 market. Strong leadership skills. Experience with newsroom digital strategy. Knowledge of newsroom computer systems. Budgeting experience and controlling expense lines. Previous experience coordinating schedules needed. Must have knowledge of television production techniques and a promotional vision.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is: $230,000.00-245,000.00 annually for California. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
