We are seeking a dynamic, creative, and self-motivated individual to join the Fox Weather team as Director of Field and Content Operations!
This exciting, innovative role will see you at the helm of gathering and coordinating content for all Fox Weather platforms. The position is perfect for someone who is passionate about producing engaging weather news and who possesses the leadership skills and vision necessary to direct a holistic weather newsgathering operation.
The ideal candidate will be able to learn quickly, make decisive editorial decisions, work efficiently across multiple software platforms, and multitask effectively within a high-pressure environment.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Direct Content Operations for FW, including managing the coordination of field crews and correspondents.
• Gives approval for field assignments and approves editorial from reporters.
• Manage the "bureau" functions of Fox Weather, including coordination of live shots for Fox Television Stations, and live shots on FW from Fox Television Stations. Same function with the EDGE affiliate group.
• Coordinate with FNC news desk for placement of content and reporters on FNC and FBN. Same in reverse with FNC correspondents when covering a weather story.
• Prepare/Supervise outlook notes for all channels/all platforms with planning for Fox Weather editorial.
• Coordinate storm chasers and license/approval of stringer/3rd party video content purchases. Assist with management of UGC squad.
• Direct Futures planning for FOX Weather, including news assignments and special projects.
• Coordinate plans for seasonal coverage, including Hurricane HQ, Winter Storm HQ, and Severe Weather HQ.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field of study, or equivalent experience
• 4+ years of professional newsgathering or editorial experience
• Strong editorial judgement and ability to write/copy-edit clear, accurate and informative reports
• Eager to work in a fast-paced, demanding weather news cycle that often includes nights & weekends in breaking news coverage
• Experience with talent management
• Knowledge of weather and meteorology, including forecasting tools and technology
• Experience in local and national news and current affairs, and breaking news
• Strong ability to recognize stories with high potential for compelling television/digital video content
• Excellent organizational and managerial skills, as well as the ability to create a collaborative environment that fosters teamwork
• Enthusiasm for getting new products and platforms going and the creative energy to ignite great ideas and highly motivate direct reports and staff
• Excellent communication skills, a great collaborative spirit, and the ability to work under intense deadline pressure
• Must have a passion for weather - weather experience is a plus!

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is: $106,000.00-173,000.00 annually for New York City and Westchester County, NY.
This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, various benefits, including medical/dental/vision insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
