How do I hire a Senior Legal Counsel? Position handles all corporate and commercial areas of legal work for Fox Television Stations' owned and operated stations; Draft variety of program and rights acquisition, real estate, operational, and talent agreements, as well as provide assistance with contractual negotiations; Review contests and other station promotions. Review news scripts and promotional announcements and advise station personnel as to legal considerations, such as libel, invasion of privacy, intellectual property, and FCC issues; Respond to news story claim letters; Advise executives and newsroom personnel with respect to newsgathering issues and litigation risk. Other duties as deemed necessary and appropriate.
Bachelor's degree and law degree (J.D.) as well as admission to state bar; At least 5 years legal experience from a top-tier law firm or equivalent in-house experience; Media law experience a plus; Must have strong legal knowledge and ability to provide advice in a timely manner; Must be able to handle multiple tasks for businesses in various time zones, sometimes on severe deadlines; Ability to work well with clients and others in a professional manner; Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
