Technical Operations Specialist (Overnights)
As a Technical Operations Specialist, you will support the team behind LiveNOW from FOX. Reporting to the Technical Operations Manager, you will play a critical role in keeping our live coverage on the air and running smoothly 24/7. This position is based in LiveNOW's Orlando newsroom and will be an overnight shift.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Support live streaming operations, ensuring reliable, high-quality experience for viewers
• Install, configure, monitor, and troubleshoot digital and IP-based broadcast systems
• Work with stream encoders, cloud video systems, cameras, routers, switchers (primarily NewTek TriCaster), and graphics systems
• Assist in maintaining and improving workflows that support LiveNOW's mission
• Quickly diagnose and resolve technical issues during live broadcasts
• Collaborate with editorial teams to support daily operations, improving and evolving workflows to make content fast and easy for audience to watch
• Perform other duties as assigned
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• Hands-on experience in broadcast operations or digital video/streaming environments
• Strong understanding of control room operations for live television or streaming
• Familiarity with digital streaming technologies, content management systems, and media workflows
• Working knowledge of TriCaster and production switching equipment preferred
• Current, relevant experience with video compression, encoding, and transmission workflows
• General IT knowledge, including networking and computer systems
• Understanding of video standards and transport protocols
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, live production environment
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Flexibility to work early mornings, nights, weekends and holidays as needed
